Animal Husbandry Faculty Students' Association of Bangladesh Agricultural University arranges a press meeting on Thursday to raise demand for creating livestock extension officer (LEO) post in the newly proposed organogram on BAU campus. -AA
Demanding the creation of livestock extension officer (LEO) post in newly proposed organogram by Department of Livestock Service (DLS) and separate directory for livestock production and treatment for Animal Husbandry (AH) and Veterinary students' profession, a press conference was arranged by animal husbandry faculty students' association.
The press conference was held at Animal Husbandry faculty conference room of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Thursday evening.
On the press conference, Prof Dr Md Nozmul Islam of Dairy Science department, GS of BAU teachers' association (BAUTA) Prof Dr Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Treasurer of the students' association Prof Dr Md Abul Hashem, VP of the students' association Md Istiak Ahmed Pihan as well as deferent department's teachers and different level student leaders were present.
Animal Husbandry faculty dean as well as president of the students' association Prof Dr Md Nurul Islam presided over the press conference.
On the press conference GS of the students' association Md Kamrul Hassan read the written statement. According to the written statement, DLS recently drafted a new organogram and sent it to the Public Administration Ministry for implementation.
DLS proposed organogram selected by Ministry of Public Administration and published on 30 September 2018, where the entry level Livestock Extension Officer was retained and sent to the Ministry of Finance.
But an organogram published by the finance ministry on 10 September 2019, where the proposal for LEO post was dropped in direct response to a group of conspirators.
Which will hamper the development of livestock and will lead to the destruction of livestock. It is to be noted that the students of all levels of the Animal Husbandry faculty have been stopped all classes and exams.
