Abrar’s body taken to Kushtia home

The body of Buet student Abrar Fahad, who was beaten to death allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League activists of the university unit, was brought in the town on Tuesday morning.

A heart-rending scene was created when an ambulance carrying Abrar’s body reached his residence on PTI road in the town at around 5 am. Relatives, neighbours broke down in tears seeing the body of the young  boy.

Hundreds of people attended the second namaz-e-janaza of Abrar Fahad held in front of Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub Alam Hanif’s residence  at around 6 am.

Abrar’s body was taken to his village home at Raidanga village in Kumarkhali upazila at 8am where he will be buried at his family graveyard after the third namaz-e- janaza there.

Hundreds of people gathered there to have a glimpse of Abrar’s body.

Earlier, police arrested nine leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League in connection with the killing of Abrar on Monday and his father filed a case against 19 BCL men with Chawkbazar Police Station.
