Bangladesh national football team head coach Jamie Day has set his sights on inspiring Bangladesh to a famous FIFA world cup 2022 qualifier upset of Asian champion Qatar as the two sides will meet today at Bangabandhu national stadium.
Bangladesh 187 ranked, launched their world cup 2022 qualifier campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Afghanistan. But they roared back with two consecutive wins recently in friendly matches against Bhutan.
Meanwhile, world cup hosts Qatar who are far ahead from Bangladesh in ranking (62) and current Asian champion, hold a goaless draw against India but overpowered Afghanistan by 6-0 goals in the second match.
Earlier, Bangladeshi booters made a two-week training camp including two friendly matches against Bhutan as a part of their preparation. The men in red and green beat the Himalayans by 4-1 goals in the first match on September 29 and 2-0 goals in the 2nd and last match on October 3, both at BNS.
In a pre-match press-conference on Wednesday at Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) office in Motijheel, Bangladesh Head Coach Jamie Day said they have made a good preparation and will play their best today to get a good result.
