First nuclear power plant in Belarus to go live in Jan
The first ever nuclear power plant in Belarus is set to commence operations next January, according to an announcement by Rosatom, Russia’s state nuclear energy agency, which executed the project.

The Belarusian NPP is one of the reference projects of Rooppur NPP in Bangladesh, which is also being built by Russian company Atomstroyexport, the overseas engineering division of Rosatom.

As in Rooppur NPP, the Belarus project will host two units with Rosatom’s generation III+ VVER reactors, which fully comply with all modern requirements, international standards and IAEA recommendations.

Rosatom in a statement informed that the Belarusian NPP draws international interest since it is the first nuclear power plant to be commissioned in Europe in recent years.
