Bangladesh National Football team is getting tough preparation ahead of their India counterpart of Joint Qualification (Round-1) for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023.

Bangladesh booters had a two-hour training session at the Salt Lake Yuba Bharati Training Ground in Kolkata on Saturday morning ahead of their away match against India at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 15. Bangladeshi booters made physical exercises and practised with ball crossing, finishing pass, set-piece, goalkeeping and ball possessing in the training session under the supervision of Head Coach Jamie Day.

The record shows Bangladesh won only two matches against India in South Asian Federation Games 1991 and 1999 while conceded 15 defeats and played out 11 draws since their first meeting in Asian Games 1978.

In their last five meets, Bangladesh conceded three defeats and played out two draws against their neighbours India.
Bangladesh were put in Group E of FIFA, AFC Joint Qualification along with Qatar, Oman, India and Afghanistan.

The men in red and green started their campaign with a 0-1 goal defeat against Afghanistan in their first away match in the Tajik capital Dushanbe on September 10 and conceded a 0-2 defeat against Asian Champions Qatar in their first home match at a packed Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) on Thursday evening.

In the remaining group matches, Bangladesh will play Oman on November 14 in Oman, Afghanistan on March 26 next year in Bangladesh, Qatar on March 31 in Qatar, India on June 4 in Bangladesh and Oman on June 9 in Bangladesh.
