Samsung promises to take BD forward Country Manager of Samsung Bangladesh Seungwon Youn and Chairman of Fair Electronics Ltd Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub along with others attend a celebration event in the capital yesterday.

Samsung Bangladesh is celebrating one year of its factory operations in the country along with its local partner Fair Electronics Ltd. Samsung Bangladesh announced the milestone on Saturday at a media conference at a hotel in the capital in presence of Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub, Chairman of Fair Electronics Ltd and Seungwon Youn, Country Manager of Samsung Bangladesh.

From Samsung Mobile Bangladesh Senior Director HD Lee, General Manager Bomin Kim, Head of Marketing Ashik Hasan, Head of Product Team Fazlul Musawwir Choudhury and Assistant Manager (Marketing Commun-ications) Priam Hasnat were present at the event. From Fair Group, Chief Marketing Officer Mesbah Uddin, Head of Marketing JM Taslim Kabir, and Deputy Manager (Marketing) Rajesh Sharma were also present at the event.   

Since June 2018, Fair Electronics Limited, a concern of Fair Group, has been assembling a range of Samsung smartphones for the Bangladesh market in association with Samsung Electronics at a hi-tech facility in Narsingdi in line with the government's Digital Bangladesh vision. 

During the last one year, with the help of the most modern machinery and leading global technology, Samsung has been able to deliver more than 1.5 million 4G smartphones for the local market. The current product portfolio of assembled phones includes all 4G Smartphones, ranging from Tk. 7,500 to Tk. 40,000 including the highly sought-after Galaxy M Series and Galaxy A Series phones.

In his speech, Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub said, "Bangladesh is a land of possibility. Time and again, the nation has proven its resilience and capacity to surprise the world against all odds. We are highly optimistic about our successful collaboration with Samsung Bangladesh. For the future, Fair Electronics Limited will continue on this path of excellence and prosperity, contributing to the vision of a digital Bangladesh".

Country Manager of Samsung Bangladesh Seungwon Youn said, "Bangladesh has established its supremacy in various other industries already and is now on the road to establishing itself as a technology hub as well. The SKD (semi knock down) operations of Samsung Mobile is an initiative enabling technology transfer to Bangladesh and contributing to the development of Digital Bangladesh".
