Chittagong University Chhatra League has urged all media platforms to visit every hall of the university to see the 'real situation', claiming that 'Torture cell' does not exist at Chittagong University (CU).
The Chhatra League made the call in a statement signed by CU Chhatra League president Rezaul Haque Rubel and General Secretary Iqbal Hossain Tipu on Friday.
The statement said, "Bangladesh Chhatra League, Chittagong University branch is very sad to notice - a reputable TV channel in the country has added Chittagong University name in the news spread about Chhatra League's torch cell in various universities."
"We strongly condemn such baseless, unrealistic false news. Also, I urge all the media of the country - you come physically and inquire about the matter. Only then will there be evidence of the futility of this news, ' CU BCL president said in the statement.

A private television on Friday reported that the BCL had torture cells in 12 universities.
