No 'torture cell' in CU

Chittagong University Chhatra League has urged all media platforms to visit every hall of the university to see the 'real situation', claiming that 'Torture cell' does not exist at Chittagong University (CU).

The Chhatra League made the call in a statement signed by CU Chhatra League president Rezaul Haque Rubel and General Secretary Iqbal Hossain Tipu on Friday.

The statement said, "Bangladesh Chhatra League, Chittagong University branch is very sad to notice - a reputable TV channel in the country has added Chittagong University name in the news spread about Chhatra League's torch cell in various universities."

"We strongly condemn such baseless, unrealistic false news. Also, I urge all the media of the country - you come physically and inquire about the matter. Only then will there be evidence of the futility of this news, ' CU BCL president said in the statement.

The statement claimed that, Shibir who denies the existence of Bangladesh, when they were present in the university halls, the news of the student's torture in the room was seen in the newspaper. However, after consolidating the position of the BCL in the halls, there is no longer an allegation of torture of ordinary students. '

"Therefore, we are requesting the withdrawal of the name of Chittagong University from the published news, with the expectation of more responsible and professional journalism to all the media, including the media who have published the news about Torture Cell."

A private television on Friday reported that the BCL had torture cells in 12 universities. Chittagong University is numbered 12th.Immediately after the publication of the news, the leaders of the BCL and activists of various social and cultural organizations came under criticism. General students have mixed reactions to this.
