Human chain demands justice for Abrar in Sylhet
Students of different educational institutes in the district town on Monday formed a human chain demanding justice for Abrar Fahad who was beaten to death reportedly by BCL leaders at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet).

The students of Sylhet Polytechnic Institute and Sylhet Technical School and College organised the protest at the main entrance of the institute at 10 am.

Speakers at the human chain said some miscreants in the name of students have been tormenting general students creating torture cells at various educational institutes including Sylhet Polytechnic Institute.

Such instances are shameful for an independent country, they said, demanding immediate justice for Abrar.

Abrar, 21, a second-year electrical and electronic engineering (EEE) student of Buet, was beaten to death reportedly by BCL leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university on October 7. He was found dead on the staircase of the dormitory.
