The new envoys of three countries to Bangladesh on Monday separately presented their credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban.
The non-resident envoys are Ambassador of Bulgaria Eleonora Dimitrova, Coromoto Godoy Calderon of Venezuela and Juan Rolando Angulo Monslave of Chile.
President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the presentation of the credentials. Welcoming the envoys, the President said Bangladesh has huge potential in the fields of commerce, investment and tourism.
He expressed the hope that the bilateral relations with these countries will further be strengthened during their assignments here.
Abdul Hamid also put emphasis on availing all potential in the interests of their respective countries and Bangladesh to bolster the trade and diplomatic ties.
Bangladesh is producing world-standard readymade garment (RMG), medicine, jute and jute-made goods and those countries can avail the opportunities, he mentioned.The President stressed on more exchange of visits of public representatives and business leaders to expand the relations among the countries.
The envoys sought President's cooperation in discharging their duties in Bangladesh.
Mentioning Bangladesh’s tremendous development, especially in socio-economic sector and women empowerment, they assured Bangladesh of providing all necessary support in the future.
Secretaries concerned to the President and high officials of the Foreign Ministry were also present.
Earlier, on their arrival at Bangabhaban, a smartly turned-out contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) gave the envoys guards of honour.
