A bridge has been remained useless due to the lack of connecting roads in the both sides of the bridge for few months at Moddhaya Digolkandi village under Jorgaca union in Sonatola upazila in Bogura district.

Project Implemen-tation Officer (PIO) office source said that the bridge was constructed at around Tk. 15 lakh with the finance by the department of disaster management in the session of 2018-2019. Local people said that the lack of soil excavation in around 500 miter road of the east side of the bridge, the 18 ft long bridge remains useless from the beginning of the inauguration and it has been triggering the utmost suffering of the people.

They cannot move smoothly and even the root level farmers of Moddhaya Digalkandi to Chokchokia village cannot carry their agro-products to the market easily and by passing the roads, they have to pay much money, added the local people.

School Assistant Head Master Bodiuzzaman said that after the construction of the bridge, few rickshaws and auto-rickshaws were moving in the low-graded road but the current of the flood water damages the road and makes it useless and 20 thousands of people of the surrounding villages have been facing problems.

Contacted, Rostam Ali Mondal, Chairman of Jorgaca union said that the bridge was constructed during the regime of the present government and a project for allocation for the construction was sent to the higher authority.

Contacted, Md. Ziaur Rahman, Project Implementation Officer (PIO) of Sonatola upazila said that the ministry of disaster management has recently constructed the bridge and upcoming dry season, the connecting roads in the both sides of the bridge will be constructed for smooth movement of the commuters.
