Kazi held for registering child marriage Kazi Abdus Salam was arrested by an operation of mobile court for registering marriage of a girl child in Haluaghat of Mymenshingh on Wednesday midnight. -AA

Kazi Abdus Salam was arrested by an operation of mobile court for registering marriage of a girl child in Haluaghat of Mymens-hingh on Wednesday midnight. Getting the information of child marriage, Haluaghat Upazila NIrbahi Officer (UNO) and Magistrate Md Rezaul Karim punished him for 6 months jail.

Kazi Abdus Salam is the son of late Abdus Sobhan and younger brother of former chairman of Bildora union under Haluaghat upazila, Nazrul Islam. Through a spot visit, our correspondent got to know that Kazi Abdus Salam registered the marriage of a student of 8th grade of Bildora High School, resident of Purba Dariakanda village to Rasel, son of Ajmot Ali, resident of Gostabahuli village of the upaila. 

Haluaghat Upazila NIrbahi Officer (UNO) and Magistrate Md Rezaul Karim, Senior Assistant Police Super (Haluaghat- Dhobaura) Alamgir, Haluaghat Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biplab Kumar Biswas, Bildora Union Parishad Chairman Jahangir Alam were present there with others. 

Haluaghat Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biplab Kumar Biswas confirmed the matter and said that Kazi Abdus Salam was sent to court on Thursday.
