A four-day '5th BIGTEX - Bangladesh International Garment and Textile Industry Exposition', on Thursday began here, giving an impetus to draw potential buyers and a boost to the country's apparel sector.
Being held at the International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city, the exposition will deftly explore ways to enhance export earning and rejuvenate the garment, textile and apparel sectors.
The event has already drawn potential buyers as it showcases latest machineries, technologies, dyes or chemical, yarn and fabric available for Bangladesh on display with manufacturers or suppliers from the world available to Bangladesh's RMG sector.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi attended the inaugural ceremony of the four-day the exposition as the chief guest, according to a press release, reports BSS.Targeting the entire textile, garment and apparel industry, RedCarpet365 Limited is organizing the international exhibition.
Among others, President of the Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) Md Abdul Kader Khan, President of the Institution of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET) Engineer Md Shafiqur Rahman, Honorary Consul General of Greece to Bangladesh and Giant Group Managing Director Faruque Hassan and 1st Vice President of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) Mohammad Hatem were present on the occasion.This expo will remain open for general and trade visitors from 10:30 am to 7:30pm every day.
