Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud Thursday said the 7th November was 'soldier killing day,' and it was not the day of revolution. "Ziaur Rahman had come to state power using the blood of soldiers. So, this day was actually the 'soldier killing day," he told journalists after attending a program at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in Dhaka.
"There is no logic to observe the day as the national revolution and solidarity day. . . I strongly believe that there should have been remedy for every misdeed," the minister said.Hasan, the publicity and publication secretary of Awami League said the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is holding the trial of war criminals.
"The trial of the killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been finished. Some verdicts of the trail of war criminals have also been executed," the minister added. He said the trail of the 3rd November Jail Killing has been completed.
"But many trials are yet to be finished. I think that trials of all murders should be completed to implement justice in the country. I personally believe that a commission needs to be formed to expose the perpetrators involved in the killing of soldiers on November 7," said Hasan, "The incidents of killing of 15 August, 3 November, and 7 November in 1975 are identical," the minister added.
