Leaders seek action against Ranga
A number of former student leaders who agitated against the dictatorial regime of former President Hussain Muhammad Ershad have demanded actions to be taken against Jatiya Party's Secretary General Mashiur Rahman  Ranga for his comment saying that Noor Hossain was a drug addict.

These leaders stated on Monday that the followers of the past dictators and autocrats are trying to defame the image of the politicians and martyrs who fought for democracy by telling lies. People who are speaking in favour of Hussain Muhammad Ershad's regime got different undue privileges from Ershad during the 80s, the protesting leaders said.

These leaders have said that Mashiur Rahman Ranga should withdraw his derogatory remark without delay or he should be subjected to punishment for what he said about martyr Noor Hossain.

They also called upon everyone to boycott the associates of autocrats. The statement was signed by Dr. Moshtaq Hossain, Anwarul Haque, Nazmul Haque Prodhan, Shafi Ahmed, Sazzad Zahir Chandan, Mosharefa Mishu, Ruhin Hossain Prince, Belal Chowdhury, Bazlur Rashid Firoze, Raghib Ahsan Munna, Rajekuzzaman Ratan, AKM Jahirul Islam and Aslam Khan.
