Nepal women's volleyball team pulled off a crushing 3-0 set win against Bangladesh women's volleyball team to book final ticket in the inaugural Bangamata Asian Senior Women's Central Zone International Volleyball Championship on Tuesday at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.
Bangladesh failed to offer any contest against powerful Nepal who are undefeated so far in the competition. Bangladesh girls conceded 25-7, 25-6 and as same points defeat in the three set. Khadka Sunita of Nepal was adjudged the player of the match.
Bangladesh team's coach Golam Rasul Mehedi, however, content of the team's performance. "Definitely happy...My girls are new and they have less experience of playing match…Even they did not play any international match before …Nevertheless we have able to reach in this stage," said the Bangladesh coach after the match.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan outclassed Afghanistan in the day's first match. Bangladesh will play against Kyrgyzstan today in their last match of the tournament. Earlier, hosts Bangladesh who launched their campaign with a flourish against Afghanistan in their opening match, lost to the Maldives in their second match.
Apart from host Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, The Maldives and Kyrgyzstan are taking part in the six-day meet, organised by Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF).
The top two teams will lock horn in the final scheduled to be held on November 14 at 3 pm following the third-place deciding encounter at 1 pm.
