'No govt can sustain itself by repression' The Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) on Friday formed a human chain protesting the attack on Comrade Monjurul Ahsan Khan. -AA

The Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) has warned the government protesting the attacks on the processions of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB).

In a statement issued on Friday, the alliance said, "No government could sustain pursuing a path of attacks and repressions without the support of people. History is a witness to this. The government also cannot sustain. The mass movement will vanish the misrule."

The CPB has been observing procession program across the country with a slogan 'Save lives-save country'. The ruling party men allegedly attacked on the programs in Dhaka and Madarganj of Jamalpur. CPB's former president Monjurul Ahsan Khan was injured in Madarganj attack.

The attack on veteran politician Monjurul Ahsan Khan was condemned by CPB President Mujahidul Islam Selim, General Secretary Md Shah Alam, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) General Secretary Khalequzzaman, Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) General Secretary Mobinul Haider Chowdhury, Gonosamhati Andolon chief coordinator Zonayed Saki, United Communist League General Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Nannu, Ganatantrik Biplobi Party General Secretary Moshrefa Mishu, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Andolon Convener Hamidul Haque.

Meanwhile, the CPB held a rally in front of the National Press Club on Friday protesting the party's leaders and activists in different parts of the country including Monjurul Ahsan Khan.
