Salma Islam made Dhaka district JP president

Jatiya Party Presidium Member Salma Islam, MP (reserved seat) has been made the party's Dhaka district unit president. Party chairman GM Quader came up with the announcement at the council of the party's unit on Saturday. He asked Salma to constitute a full-fledged committee of the unit by the next 10 days, reports UNB.

Speaking at the program, GM Quader said people want to see Jatiya Party as an alternative force. "Jatiya Party is now the most accepted party among the country's three major political parties."

He also said people expect that Jatiya party will be strengthened further to take the country forward by returning to power. Jatiya Party secretary general Moshiur Rahman Ranga, presidium members Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, Syed Abu Hossain Babla and SM Faisal Chisti were, among others, present at the program.
