Bangladesh respects all religions: Razzaque

Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque Sunday said the country became independent with non-communal spirit and the people of Bangladesh respect all religions. "The country became independent with non-communal spirit.

The people of this country are respectful to all faiths and the philosophy of life of the Bengalees is to respect all religions," he said while addressing the 25th universal prayer meeting at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh auditorium. Hakkani Anjuman organized the meeting with its Secretary Dr. S M Nurul Haque in the chair, said a handout, reports BSS.

The agriculture minister said, "We'll have to build a happy and peaceful society through eliminating militancy for establishing global peace with the prayers of all irrespective of caste and creed. The guardians of the children will have to think why their kids are being involved in militancy."

Sagufta Yasmin MP, Shipping Secretary Md. Abdus Samad, prominent nuclear scientist Dr M Shamsher Ali and former Chairman of World Religion and Cultural Affairs Department of Dhaka University Dr . Father Tapan Camilus De Rozario also addressed the meeting.
