Rafela Begum gets shelter through Naogaon DC Naogaon Deputy Commissioner Harun Ur Rashid ordered allotment of a disaster-resistant house for Rafela Begum, a homeless woman for more than 5 years, for her rehabilitation in Naogaon. -AA

A helpless woman, Rafela Begum in Naogaon district who has been living with her 5-year old son Chand at the guardian's waiting corner of Naogaon Government High School from last couple of months finally gets shelter through the help of Naogaon Deputy Commissioner (DC).

Hobibor Rahman, father of Rafela along with the chairman of Kirtipur union came to take her home. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Mamun, president of Naogaon Zilla Press Club Md Nobir Uddin, general secretary Md Nasimul Haque Bulbul, former general secretary Faridul Karim, journalist Mahm-udunnabi Belal and headmaster of Government Girls High School Nilima Akter Jahan were present there.

Rafela Begum (45) is the daughter of Hobibor Rahman, resident of Harirampur village under Kirtipur union of the district. She got married to Buda, resident of Kadimpur village under the same union. Rafela gave birth to a son; the name of her son is Chand.

After that her husband Buda got married for the second time and divorced her. Rafela became shocked and then took shelter to the guardian's waiting corner of Naogaon Government Girls High School where guardians of the school wait there for their children but because of Rafela Begum it was problematic for them to sit there.

President of Naogaon Zilla Press Club Nobir Uddin presented the matter at the monthly development meeting of Naogaon district. Being kind DC Harun-Or-Rashid gave UNO Abdullah Al Mamun the responsibility to make a better place for Rafela begum to stay or make her understand to go back home.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Mamun told The Asian Age that Rafela Begum will stay with her son at Kirtipur Union Parishad building and she will be handed over to disaster resistant building provided by Bangladesh Government. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Naogaon has confirmed the rehabilitation activities of Rafela Begum over phone.
