PBI steps in after failure of CTTC


The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested a person allegedly for involvement with Yaba trading. The person was relieved from the charge sheet by the Counter Terrorism and Transn-ational Crime (CTTC) unit after failing to identify him. PBI arrested Abul Kashem alias Shaheen (30) from Teknaf.

PBI alleged that bus helper Abul Kashem was involved with robbery and worked as hired killer beside Yaba trading. Enayet Kabir Police Inspector of Chitta-gong Metropolitan PBI told bdnews 24.com that three persons were arrested from Shah Amanat Bridge area on February 9 with more than two lakh pieces of yaba pills from a picnic bus.

A case was filed with Bakalia Thana in this regard. The accused bus owner Atiar Rahman, driver Jewel Rana and another accused Iqbal Hosen in the statement before the court said that they collected the Yaba from Raju and Kashem.  The counter terrorism unit submitted a charge sheet before the court on June-30 after investigating the case with Bakalia Thana.

The investigative officer recommended to relief Kashem and Raju after failing to identify their names and addresses. Rejecting the charge sheet, the court ordered the PBI to investigate the case further.
