Siemens Digital Substation Promoter Andrius Stamkauskas speaking at a seminar at a hotel in the capital on Monday.
Siemens Bangladesh Limited organized a seminar on 'Digital Substation' for increasing the awareness on how Digital Substation helps optimize overall efficiency of the power transmission and distribution at a hotel in the capital on Monday.
Substations are an integral component of power grids. They connect grids of differing voltage levels, and their controlling and coordinating function is vitally important to the stability of the overall system. That's why they're considered the heart of the power grid. Their digitalization is a decisive step toward successfully shaping the transformation of energy systems.
As keynote speaker of the seminar Siemens Digital Substation Promoter Andrius Stamkauskas described briefly about Digital Substation. It was demonstrated how the energy systems of the future will be increasingly decarbonized, distributed, and digitalized. Digitalization will help us master these challenges.
Ensuring that digital transformation succeeds in the energy sector, it will require decisiveness, flexibility, and intelligent investments in smart digital technology. Going forward, this would enable to manage current tasks while creating enough leeway to actively shape the future.
Investments in innovative technologies today create future-proof power grids characterized by reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. He also answered different questions raised by the audience.
Guests from the different power utilities like BPDB, PGCB, DESCO, BREB, Power-cell, DPDC, WZPDCL, NESCO and A2i have participated at the seminar.
In a separate statement Siemens Bangladesh Managing Director and CEO Prabal Bose said "Smart Grid" is a novel concept which enables the transformation of the conventional electric power grid to a modern grid. Modernization of the substation is primary and important step to implement the Smart Grid technology. Siemens has been a global leader in Smart grid technologies, and we are eager to contribute in Bangladesh.
