Joya to produce Humayun’s ‘Debi’

Two-time National Film Award-winning actress Joya Ahsan is emerging as a producer. She is going to be the producer of film 'Debi'. 'Debi' is one of the most acclaimed novels of Humayun Ahmed which is going to be made into a movie. The film has already gotten the 2015-2016 government grants from the Information Ministry.
Joya Ahsan said about producing the movie, "I wanted to be a producer for a long time. Now I am all packed for producing." Whether she will be directing the movie is not finalized yet, but, she will be acting in the film, she informed.
"I can say for sure that I will be acting and producing the film. Humayun Ahmed's 'Debi' novel was in my mind for a long time. I was thinking of making it into a movie. I already have talked with Meher Afroz Shaon about it," she added.
According to the Government aided film policy, the movie has to be finished within nine month after receiving the first check. Joya said, "I am going to follow the policy and soon start the film."Though there isn't going to be any film of Joya in the upcoming Eid, a short film titled 'Bhalobashar Shohor' is going to be released soon. The movie is directed by noted Indian director Indranil Roy Chowdhury. She will be seen in the leading role of the film. She is going to share screen with Indian actor Ritwik Chakrabarty.
Jaya collected a huge number of Indian fans for her outstanding performances and bold appearance in Indian film Rajkahini (2015), directed by Srijit Mukherji. Recently, she has finished shooting of Tollywood film 'Ami Joy Chatterjee Bolchhi' directed by Monoj Michigan. The actress is currently busy with 'Peyarer Subash', directed by Nurul Alam Atique.
