Bngladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) has started oxygen bank and round the clock Medicare services in the city for corona suspected and infected patients. With the slogan ` Bina Oxygeney Jhorey Porbey Na Kono Pran (none will die due to lack of oxygen)' they inaugurated this imitative with five oxygen cylinder and 30 oxy-meters at their party office on Monday noon.
Dr. Manisha Chakraborty, member secretary of district BSD, in inaugural program of the service, said many corona infected patient died in lack of proper and speedy testing and supply of oxygen facilities and timely treatment. For this we started this initiative of oxygen-bank.
If anyone needing help call or inform us, then our volunteers will rush to his doorstep for giving free Medicare services and count oxygen supply position with oxy-meter and after testing we will supply oxygen cylinder, if he needs.
We also bring the patient to the hospital in case of any emergency medical need including suspected corona infection, Dr. Manisha added.Oxygen supply is basic need for treatment of corona infected patient.
But people are suffering from lack of that as Sher-e-Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) facing acute shortage of oxygen supply. People also deprived from speedy corona testing from the SBMCH and public hospital.
So we demanding door to door sample collection from suspected patients with corona symptom, speedy testing of corona infection and proper treatment and necessary facilities for corona patients at public hospital including SBMCH.'
Speakers alleged that 15 activists of Progressive Students Alliance detained by police at Rangpur when they protested mismanagement and irregularities of the health sector on Sunday noon. They demanded immediate release of detained activist.
Participants of the program also called rich people for coming forward to provide necessary health equipments and services to help corona infected needy patients, said Eng. Imran Habib Rumon, district convener of BSD.Mentionable during the corona pandemic BSD initiated different types of voluntary welfare programme including, 'Manobatar Bazar', ` 'Manobotar Pathsala', 'Free Ambulance Service' and reliefs works for poor.
