Tech students to get stipends through bKash


1 lakh 14 thousand 697 students of 157 technical education institutions across the country will get stipend and monetary assistance for purchasing educational materials through bKash.

On June 27, 2020, through a virtual event, Education Minister Dipu Moni inaugurated the program of stipend and assistance for purchasing educational materials for students of technical education institutions under the Directorate of Technical Education which is governed by Ministry of Education.

Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education was present there as the special guest. Munshi Shahabuddin Ahmed and were also connected to the event.Secretary of Technical and Madrasah Education Division.


; Md. Sanowar Hossain, Director General of the Directorate of Technical Education; Shafiuddin Ahmed, Director General of the Directorate of Madrasha Education; Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam, Managing Director of Agrani Bank and Kamal Quadir, Chief Executive Officer of bKash were also connected to the event.

Agrani Bank is the banking partner of this stipend disbursement program of the Directorate of Technical Education.Under this program, students will get Taka 3,000 as stipend and Taka 1000 for purchasing educational materials in every six months.

At the opening ceremony, Dr Dipu Moni lauded bKash and Agrani Bank for implementing various stipend programs of the Ministry of Education which have been digitalized and successfully carried out in order to fulfill Prime Minister's dream of Digital Bangladesh.

This stipend scheme has been launched for the first time for the overall development of technical students through improvement of quality education by ensuring class attendance and encouraging girls in technical education.

Technical students of secondary and higher secondary level will be in the list under this program. All girls and students with disabilities will be enlisted as beneficiaries of this program.Students can easily Cash-out the money from any nearby bKash agent without any charge.

Secondary education stipend program is the largest stipend scheme run by the Ministry of Education to reduce the dropout rate of school students.4 million students of secondary level have already received stipends through bKash under Integrated Stipend Program in the shortest possible time easily.
