Youth held for violating girl in Sylhet

Police arrested a young man from Swarsati village in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet on Friday midnight for violating a girl. The arrestee is Zabaul Islam, 31, son of Abdul Latif of the village. Rashid Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Golapganj Model Police Station, said  Zabaul developed a relationship with the victim and used to violate her with a promise to marry her, reports UNB.

At one stage, the victim became pregnant but Zabaul denied marrying her. Later, on Thursday, the victim filed a case with Golapganj Police Station against three people including Zabul. After getting the complaint, police arrested Zabaul around 12 am on Friday from his residence.
