Jaya Ahsan wins Filmfare Awards for both films
 
Bangladeshi Actress Jaya Ahsan has won the Best Actress award at the Joy Filmfare (Bangla) Awards for her 2019 Tollywood films 'Vijaya' and 'Rabibar'. The awards ceremony was held at a five-star hotel in Kolkata, India on Wednesday evening. Last year's event was held this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Jaya stood surprised when she received invitation to receive Filmfare Award in Kolkata from the organizer just an evening ahead of the event. She said "I am happy to receive the Award. My fans and friends are more happy."

Jaya further added she hurriedly get the negative report for Corona as the organizers were repeatedly urging her to join. In the glittering event she won the Filmfare Best Actor Award surpassing the other noted actresses, including Isha Saha, Raima Sen, Sohini Sarkar and Shubhshree Ganguly.

Tollywood's Filmfare Awards held this week just after the Bollywood's Filmfare Awards. This event is organized to encourage films of Bengali language in Kolkata. Earlier, Jaya Ahsan received the Best Actress Filmfare Award in 2016 for her performance in the movie 'Bisarjan'. She was nominated for a Filmfare Award for his performance in Arindam Sheel's 'Eagler Chokh'. In 2014, she was also nominated for the film 'Aborto' by the same director.

About receiving the award, the actress said that she works to satisfy artistic hunger. "I do not get overwhelmed when I get the prize, do not get upset when I do not get it. It's a great honor to have my name in such a competitive working environment outside the country", she added. "I would like to express my gratitude, of course to the people of my country and, to all the visitors. At the same time, I would like to thank my Indian audience and followers, who have given me the opportunity to prove myself by working."
