5 members of theft gang arrested with stolen money Naogaon district police have arrested five members of a theft gang with stolen amount Tk 50,000. -AA
 
Naogaon district police have arrested five members of a theft gang with money theft from general people in the district targeting the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Rokibul Akter, additional superintendent of police, informed the information at a press conference held at Naogaon model police station on Thursday.

The arrestees were identified as Md Selim (24), son of late Alam of North Chelopara village; Md Arif (25), son of Md Mukul Hossain; Mst Ritu (45) wife of late Lutfur Rahman; Mst Selina (38), wife of Saidul Islam and Mst Aysha (32), wife of Lalon Bepari. An amount of Tk 50,000 also seized from the arrestees. 

In the press conference, ASP Rokibul Akter said, "When Kalyani Feed Mill manager Pulok Kumar Kundu was going to deposit Tk 2 lakh to his Naogaon Exim Bank branch, some 2/3 people stole one bundle an amount of Tk 50,000 from him from Butter Mor."

Later, the victim filed a complaint to Naogaon model police station. In context of the complaint, the Nagaon model police conducted drives at different places and nabbed the accused within an hour and seized the stolen money.

ASP Rokibul Akter said, "We had information that an organized theft gang was stealing belongings of common people at different places in the district targeting the upcoming Eid. They used to stay for a few at one place. There are several cases against the arrestees at various police stations in the district."

Nazrul Islam Jewel, Officer-in-Charge of Naogaon sadar police station, said, "A case has been filed against the arrestees. They have been sent to jail on Thursday."

The OC said, we need to aware of such organized theft group. He urged all not to make throng at markets without any reason and remain at home.
