A total of 134 students of small ethnic groups have got scholarships, educational materials, bicycles and corona protective materials in Nakla upazila of Sherpur on Thursday.
The scholarships, educational materials, bicycles and corona protection materials were provided under the program titled "Development Assistance for Special Areas" adopted by the Prime Minister's Office.
These educational materials, bicycles, scholarships and corona protection materials were distributed at a program organized by the Upazila administration in the auditorium of the Upazila parishad.Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman, Upazila parishad chairman Shah Md Borhan Uddin was present at the distribution program as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Tribal Welfare Association's Nakla upazila branch president Subhash Chandra Biswas, vice-president Ranjit Kumar Biswas, general secretary Ramchandra Biswas along with other members of the association along with local journalist and locals were present on the distribution program.
Tribal Welfare Association Nakla Upazila branch sources said, 66 primary students, 47 secondary students and 21 higher secondary students get scholarships. 10 students got bicycles. Some 27 students got school bags, khata, pens, pencils, geometry boxes and erasers. All students have got soap and masks as corona protection materials.
