Environment minister gives food items to helpless families

Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin has provided food items among helpless families in the corona pandemic in Baralekha and Juri upazilas of Moulvibazar on Saturday. Some 1,700 families received food items worth Tk 1.4 million from personal funds of the environment minister. Each person got 10 kg rice, 1 kg pulse and 1 liter soybean oil. Speaking online as the chief guest at the distribution of food items from the official residence in Dhaka, the Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change said, "The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is helping the people of the country in every possible way."

He appealed to the non-governmental organizations and wealthy people to extend a helping hand to the needy. Chairman of Baralekha Upazila Parishad Soyeb Ahmed, former Upazila Chairman and Acting General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Rafiqul Islam Sundar, Mayor of Baralekha Municipality Md Abul Imam Ahmed Kamran Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary of Upazila Awami League AKM Helal Uddin, Vice-Chairman of Baralekha Upazila Parishad Taj Uddin, among others, were present during the distribution of food items in Baralekha Upazila and President of Juri Upazila Awami League Bir Muktijoddha Md Badrul Hossain, General Secretary Masuk Ahmed, Vice-Chairman of Juri Upazila Rinku Ranjan Das and others were present on the occasion.
