119 more test positive for Covid-19 in Ctg

 
A total of 119 more people were tested positive for Covid-19 after testing 815 samples in the last 24 hours at eight COVID-19 laboratories in the district till Wednesday evening, climbing the number of infections to 54,453.

According to the hospital sources, the infection rate is 14.60 percent during the period. The daily new infection figure shows a slight enhanced compared to the previous day’s figure of 113, but the recovery rate also enchanting continually in the district in recent weeks,” Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chatogram told BSS on Thursday. Among the infected patients 62 are from Chattogram city and 57 from different upazilas of the district. With three deaths on Wednesday the number of coronavirus deaths in Chattogram steady 635, Dr Rabbi, also said. Among the reported fatalities, 451 were the residents of the port city and the rest 184 were from different upazilas of the district, he said. Among the total 54,453 coronavirus infected people, 43,165 are the residents of the city and the rest 11,288 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district, he continued.

“The number of cured patients has reached 44,660 in the district with the recovery of 517 more patients on Monday,” the health official said, adding that the percentage of recovery rate stands at 82.02. A total of 6014 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at designated hospitals here, he mentioned.
