In this time of crisis amid the pandemic, most of the activities including film promotions are happening on social media and stars getting adapted to the new trend. Just like many other celebs Raima Sen, too, is no exception to this. So, how much of a social media person she is; we asked the versatile actress.
"I am not a social media savvy person. I may retweet many things, share my pictures on Instagram and also promote my projects, but I'm not that active as I may think. For me, this is enough. I believe we should keep our personal lives to ourselves. If you see closely you would understand I don't put too many of my personal stuff social media," shared Raima during an exclusive chat with ETimes.
As we have seen previously, many actors and celebs had a particular enigma about them, but these days things have changed, courtesy the rise of social media. Now, you need to be accessible. Raima, too, feels the same.
"Yes, it's true. Gone are the days when actors used to be not so open about their personal lives. But now, we have to be more active on social media. Fans and followers are close to you as the digital platforms are here. Some sort of visibility is needed these days. So, yes, it's necessary; but there are also pros and cons," added Raima.
Interestingly, there is also a noticeable change in the stars as well. It looks like social media has humanized the celebs. Those starry attitudes or tantrums are more of a distant past now.
"Yes, because stars are moody. It's understandable. They have to handle so many people. Stars don't have that much tantrums like you see in the newcomers these days. Besides, it's also a misconception among people that stars show tantrums. Stars in reality don't throw tantrums, it's just people think so.
This is the trend or attitude or a changed notion - whatever you say - that newcomers believe in. They think it has to be like this to survive in the industry - like go out with your mother along or throw your weight to get noticed. But once you start your work, then you understand, it's nothing but a nonsensical show-off because you then realise that it's only your work that will be recognized. We come with so many of these notions but start learning the actual things along the journey. You soon realize the facades and learn not to take those seriously," explained Raima.
The actress was recently seen in a supernatural web series starring alongside Sanjay Kapoor, Shahana Goswami, Karma Takapa, Robin Tamang and Shaylee Krishen. Raima received accolades for a stellar act in the series. She will also make her Tamil debut with 'Agni Siragugal' which is an action thriller.
