Cigarette black marketeer held

 
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-10) arrested a black marketeer named Gouranga Chandra Sarkar (45) with foreign cigarettes at Kadamtali in the capital.
RAB-10 Assistant Director (Media) ASP Enayet Kabir Shoaib confirmed the matter on Monday. He said a team of RAB-10 raided the Donia Shani Mandir Market area of Kadamtali Police Station around 8:30 pm on Sunday on the basis of secret information. During the operation, 4,248 pieces of foreign cigarettes were seized along with one person. A mobile phone and six thousand taka were seized from him.

He further said that the arrested Gouranga was a member of the professional cigarette black market. He had been illegally stocking and selling various brands of domestic and foreign cigarettes for some time through black market and smuggling. A case has been filed against the arrested Gouranga, said ASP Enayet.
