'BD to get vaccines from India soon'
 
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami has said that Bangladesh will get vaccines from India soon. He said this to jounralists while going to India on Wednesday through Akhaura International Immirgration Checkpost  in Brahmanbaria. Doraiswami said, "The production of vaccines has boosted in India. Oxygen and equipment are being supplied to Bangladesh from India. Hopefully, the vaccine supply will start soon."

Trade between the two countries has increased in the last four months while imports and exports by rail have hiked during this period, he further said. "Roads, railways and waterways are being developed to increase communication between the two countries, which will strengthen our friendship," he added. The Indian High Commissioner said, "The construction of Akhaura-Agratala rail link is going on. Though the work has delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, it will be completed next year." Earlier, Doraiswami reached Akharua land port at 1pm from Dhaka by road. Akhaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rumana Akter, Additional Superintendent of Police (Kasba Circle) Nazmul Hasan, Akhaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mizanur Rahman and Immigration Police In-Charge Abdul Hamid, among others, welecomed the Indian envoy.
