The new police recruitment police is an epoch-making decision which will help to build a corruption-free police force, said Cumilla Superintendent of Police Faruk Ahmed. He came up with the remarks while addressing a press conference at SP office on Tuesday. The Cumilla SP said, "Under the new recruitment police, only qualified people with merit and good physique will be hired as constable."
We have taken this recruitment as a challenge. Nobody will be allowed to tarnish it. This is a golden opportunity for qualified and transparent candidates to get job in police, the SP added. He urged everyone to fill up the application form accurately by providing correct information. It is mentionable that some 112 people of 17 upazilas under Cumilla district will get jobs in police constables under the new rules. An online application has been started for the post on the basis of full merit and transparency.
The application starting September 10 will be accepted until October 6 at 5 pm. According to the press conference, the candidates who have successfully passed the three steps in the new rules will be considered eligible for the job. The three steps are- physical test, written test and oral test. There are 7 events for physical examination.
These are 200m running, pushup, long jump, high jump, 1600m running, dragging and rope climbing. A video was shown before the press conference. Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Kazi Md Abdur Rahim, ASP (Crime) M Tanvir Ahmed, ASP (DSB) Md Afzal Hossain, ASP (Sadar) Rajan Kumar Das and DIO-1 Monir Ahmed along with other senior police officials were present at the press conference.
