Those who destroy communal harmony are enemies of the nation, government and humanity, said Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim.
The minister came up with the remarks while virtually addressing a program in Pirojpur on Thursday from his Secretariat office. The program was organized by Pirojpur district police. Urging all to resist the communal elements, SM Rezaul Karim said, "The anti-liberation forces are trying to destroy communal harmony in the country. We must take tough stance against the evil forces. The government is alert in this regard."
During the 1971 independence war, anti-liberation forces used religion for their own interests and they turned into the collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces in the name of Islam, he added.
Presided over by Pirojpur Police Super Saidur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md Sazzad Hossain also addressed the program, among others.
