Pakistan always sponsors terrorism, militancy and extremism in the sub-continent and the country hasn't taken lesson from its defeat in the 1971 Liberation War, said speakers at a discussion in Dhaka on Friday.Bangladesh Conscious Citizens Committee (BCCC), a civil society platform, organized the discussion at the National Press Club in the morning marking the 13th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks in India.
Speakers said, "Pakistan continues its evil attacks on democratic forces in the sub-continent. Deadly terror attacks in Mumbai 13 years ago were continuation of these evil acts." "With support from Pak ISI, militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) carried out the attacks. But the Pak government never took any action against the perpetrators living there," they continued.
Chaired by BCCC Convener Prof Dr NC Bhowmik, the discussion was addressed by political and security analyst Maj Gen (retd) Mohammad Ali Sikder, DUTA General Secretary Prof Dr Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, BCCC Member Secretary Prof Dr Fazle Ali, SevenParties' Chief Coordinator M A Zalil, Social Activist Forum Chief Coordinator Mufti Masum Billah, Moti Lal Roy and others.
The speakers also said Pakistan has reported links with the attacks on Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 21, 2004, the 2016 Holey Artisan attacks and other terrorist attacks across the country.
They called upon all social and political forces to remain united to fight against these evil forces.
