Marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Rural Development Academy (BARD) organized a seminar on Establishment of Bangabandhu School of Rural Development' at Lalmai auditorium in Cumilla on Friday.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Musuem Curator and former secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan attended the seminar as the chief guest. Addressing the program, former secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan said, "Villages were at the center of Bangabandhu's development philosophy. If Bangabandhu School of Rural Development is founded with the vision of Bangabandhu, it will be helpful in building a developed Bangladesh by 2041."
Chaired by Rural Development and Co-operatives Division Secretary Md Mashiur Rahman, BARD Director General Md Shahjahan delivered the welcome speech. Speaking the occasion, Md Mashiur Rahman said, "The Department of Rural Development and Cooperatives will provide overall support to institutionalize Bangabandhu's rural development ideas." Some 80 people including professors from different universities, representatives from various ministries, departments and organizations exchanged their views in the seminar.
