Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has identified certain anomalies in the financial report of Energypac for the period of July 2020 to March 2021. DSE has sought an explanation from Energypac over these irregularities. A letter to this end has been recently sent to Energypac Managing Director. Bangladesh Securities & Exchange Commission (BSEC) has been informed about this matter.
According to DSE, Energypac did not provide any information about deferred tax on the company's income and expenditure in its financial report up to 31 March. At the same time Energypac did not convey detailed facts and figures regarding its transactions with the associated companies in its unaudited report. Energypac has mentioned the provision on its taxes of 6 crore 72 lakh 32 thousand 454 taka but did not inform properly about the tax calculation during the period from July 2020 to March 2021. DSE has asked Energypac to clarify this issue.
An official of DSE told journalists on condition of anonymity that DSE has the authority to seek explanations in case of anomalies in any enlisted company's financial report. Legal action will be taken against such companies if required, he added.Energypac has an approved capital of 500 crore taka while its paid up capital is 190 crore 16 lakh 30 thousand taka. Energypac's share was sold for 41.50 taka each till 25 November 2021.
