‘We must strengthen hands of Hasina’

We must strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as conspiracies are being hatched to kill her, Planning Minister MA Mannan said.  

He came up with the remarks while addressing a program in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria on Sunday.  A total of 75 meritorious students from 13 educational institutions in Sarail and Ashuganj upazilas got financial aid, crests, certificates and gift boxes under the Ashutosh Chakraborty Memorial Scholarship, an educational initiative of Universal Medical College Hospital.  

Universal Medical College Hospital Chairman Priti Chakraborty presided over the program held at livestock office and veterinary hospital premises at upazila headquarters in the morning.  

MA Mannan said, “Bangladesh is not an ordinary country. It is rare in the world that people sacrificed lives for the cause of their beloved motherland. Bangladesh has made unprecedented strides in different sectors in the last 12 years.”  

The present government has relentlessly been working for the development of education, he added.  

Brahmanbaria District Awami League President RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury MP was present at the program as the guest of honor while Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan MP, Umme Fatema Nazma Begum MP, Brahmambaria DC Hayat-Ud-Dowla Khan, SP Mohammad Anisur Rahman, Brahmanbaria District AL General Secretary Al Mamoon Sarker, Sarail Upazila Chairman Rafique Uddin Thakur, UNO Ariful Haq Mridul, Senior ASP (Sarail Circle) Anisur Rahman and Advocate Nazmul Hossain were present as special guests.  

Universal Medical College Hospital Managing Director Dr Ashish Kumar Chakraborty delivered the welcome speech at the function conducted by Monir Hossain.
