BCG seizes crystal meth worth Tk 12.50cr in Teknaf

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) have seized a consignment of crystal meth or 'Ice' weighing around 2.50 kilogram during an operation at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar. Lt Colonel Commander Abdur Rahman, media officer at BCG headquarters, confirmed the matter on Friday morning.He said, "Acting on tip-off, a coast guard team led by BCG Station Teknaf Station Commander Lt Commander M Nayeem Ul Haque conducted a drive in Marine Drive's Dargarchora area under Teknaf police station."

"During the operation, some of coast guard members saw a man walking suspiciously towards the forest with a bag. When they signaled the man to stop, he threw his bag and fled into the scene. After searching the bag, the BCG members found 2.5kg "Ice", which is worth around Tk12.5 crore", he said. The seized crystal meth has been handed over to Teknaf model police station for further legal action, the media officer added.
