'India is keen to construct kitchen market infrastructures in BD'

Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Tajul Islam has said that India is interested in constructing infrastructure of kitchen markets at upazila and municipality level across Bangladesh.He said these while talking to reporters after Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami met the minister at his Secretariat office in the capital on Monday.

Tajul Islam said, "As a friendly neighboring country, India wants to be a part of our development activities. If they make proposal, we will take initiative to this end." Replying to a query that kitchen market construction is not expensive, Tajul said, "It is true but they want to contribute through the market and it seems to me that they want to do that as a friendly manner." Foreign organizations and development partners frequently come to us with different proposals in line with good relations, Tajul said, adding that we accept the proposals which are beneficial.
