‘Want to work for the welfare of people till last breath’

Taslima Chowdhury Simin, a prominent social worker and member of Cumilla's Daudkandi municipality 5 no Ward Awami League, said that she desires to work for the welfare of the people till her last breath.  

She made the remarks while talking during an interview with local journalists on Sunday afternoon when she visited the Sabjikandi village of the upazila.          

Simin said, “I want to build an ideal society with the people of Daudkandi municipality, where people live a happy and prosperous life.”  She optimistic that Daudkandi municipality will be a livable and safe place for every citizen.  

She further said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the leader of the people, is relentlessly working to provide digital facilities to the doorsteps of marginalized people, adding that unimaginable infrastructural development has been done during the 12 years of continuous rule of the Awami League government.    

During her visit to Sabjikandi village, she noticed that the villagers are constructing drainage system on their own funds to alleviate waterlogging.  Later, she donated Tk 50,000 from his own funds for the construction of drain.    

Among others, prominent businessman and social worker Roman Rajib Chowdhury, Upazila Awami Jubo League joint convener Helal Mahmud, journalist Mukhtar Hossain, former Chhatra League leader Md Mosharraf Hossain, municipality Awami Jubo League member Murad Chowdhury Sumon, Jubo League leader Shahed Hossain, Jubo League leader Md Almas Miah and local elites were present at that time.
