'Enjoy the full moon from Padma bridge'
 
The Padma Bridge is going to open for traffic next month materializing the dream of those who want to enjoy the full-moon riding on the much-awaited bridge, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said.

He was addressing a discussion arranged by Bangladesh Chhatra League marking AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's homecoming day at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium on Dhaka University campus on Saturday.

Quader, also the general secretary of the ruling Awami League, said, "We will send a summary of the inauguration plan to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday. She will fix the date." The World Bank (WB) had cancelled providing credit for Padma Bridge construction raising fake allegations of corruption, he said, adding that at that period Sheikh Hasina, in strong voice, expressed determination that Padma Bridge would be constructed with domestic funds. Today, Sheikh Hasina's dream has become true as the bridge has been built with the country's own fund, he said.He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had brought independence for the nation and his daughter Sheikh Hasina brought economic emancipation.

AL Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretary BM Mozammel Haque, Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Samad, BCL General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee, its DU Unit President Sanjit Chandra Das and General Secretary Saddam Hussein spoke on the occasion among others with BCL President Al-Nahean Khan Joy in the chair.
