Indian Premier Narendra Modi felicitated Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on account of Eid Ul Azha on Saturday.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to work with Bangladesh for inclusive growth, despite an increasingly complex and challenging international environment, taking cues from the lessons of sacrifice and sharing of Eid-ul-Azha.
Modi wrote a letter to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday (July 9, 2022), greeting her, family and the fraternal people of Bangladesh, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
"As our people prosper, this festival reminds of the virtues of sacrifice and sharing, especially with less fortunate members of our societies, whose interests have been of priority to both of us and our governments," the letter reads.
"In this regard, Excellency, our shared commitment to intensify the excellent cooperation and partnership between India and Bangladesh is one of the most important means through which we can continue to deliver inclusive growth for our citizens, despite an increasingly complex and challenging international environment," he said.
Modi said he looks forward to discussing these and other issues when they meet in New Delhi in a few weeks' time. Hasina is likely to visit India early September this year.
Extending his personal good wishes to PM Hasina for Eid-ul-Azha, he said, "Please accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration and my personal good wishes again for Eid-ul-Azha."
