Harvester machines, fertilizers, seeds distributed in Pakundia

 
With a view to helping farmers harvest Boro paddy in short time and low cost, combined harvester machines at subsidized price were distributed in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj on Wednesday. Fertilizers and seed were also distributed among marginal farmers of the upazila at free of cost in Rabi season for the fiscal year 2022-23.

Member of Parliament from Kishoreganj-2 constituency (Katiadi-Pakundia) Nur Mohammad along with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rozlin Shahid inaugurated the distribution of Boro rice seeds at upazila parishad premises.

Organized by the Upazila Agriculture Extension Department, the inauguration of Boro rice seeds distribution was attended by Pakundia Upazila Chairman Rafiqul Islam Renu and Upazila Agriculture Officer Noor-e-Alam.

Upazila Krishak League former President Babul Ahmed, Upazila Krishak League President Advocate Abdul Awal, Charfaradi UP Chairman Abdul Mannan, Sukhia UP Chairman Abdul Hamid Titu, Hossaindi UP Chairman Hadiul Islam (Hadi) and Narandi UP Chairman Musleh Uddin, among others, were also present on the occasion.

According to the upazila agriculture office, two combine harvester machines were distributed to two farmers under at subsidized price program under the agricultural mechanization project through integrated management.

A total of 10,600 farmers from nine unions of the upazila including municipality were given free seeds  and fertilizers to boost the production of crops.
