Chief Whip Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury and State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak laid the foundation stone of the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology (SHIFT) at Shibchar upazila under Madaripur district on Tuesday.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that the government is committed to transform Madaripur into a smart city through SHIFT. Transforming whole Bangladesh into Smart Bangladesh will bring about Sonar Bangla (Golden Bengal) by 2041, Zunaid Ahmed Palak further said.
Chief Whip Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury said that the youths of Madaripur will be able to become potential human resources by getting equipped with latest technologies through SHIFT. Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury assured of providing all necessary cooperation for the advancement of SHIFT.
Project Director Syed Jahurul Islam (Joint Secretary) informed that SHIFT will consist of a six-storied research building, a four-storied academic building, a three-storied administrative building, dormitories for teachers and students and six specialized laboratories.
Local public representatives, administrative officials and officials of Hi Tech Park authority were present on the occasion.
