Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has kept her promise by providing permanent shelters to unhoused people across the country, Umme Fatema Nazma Begum (Sheuly Azad), a ruling party lawmaker reserved for women, said.
She was addressing the handing over ceremony of keys and documents of homes to destitute families under Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Wednesday.
A total of 49 families got homes under the fourth phase of ashrayan project at a program organized by upazila administration at Syed Sirajul Islam Auditorium.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday announced more seven districts and 159 upazilas across the country as homeless and landless free while handing over 39365 more semi-pacca houses to the homeless people free of cost ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
MP Sheuly Azad said, “The Awami League government is leading the country toward progress by making unprecedented development. The people in the country are now leading a decent life.”
She urged people to vote for ‘boat’ again for strengthening the hands of Statesman Sheikh Hasina.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Sarwar Uddin presided over the function. Upazila Parishad Chairman Rafique Uddin Thakur, BPDB executive engineer Abdur Rouf, Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Aslam Hossain, Noagaon Union Parishad Chairman Monsur Ahmed, Sarail Reporters Unity General Secretary Taslim Uddin, Sarail Sadar UP Chairman Abdul Jabbar, former upazila vice chairman Sher Alam Mia, AL leaders Mahfuz Ali and Iqbal Hossain were present at the program, among others.
