Shakib Khan summoned to court

 
A Dhaka court on Tuesday summoned actor Shakib Khan to submit a written statement by May 15, in regards to the civil suit filed by film producer Rahmat Ullah, demanding BDT 100 crore from the film star as compensation.

After accepting the lawsuit, the judge asked the plaintiff to submit the court-fee. Before that, Rahmat Ullah's lawyer had sent a legal notice to Shakib Khan requesting him to withdraw his offensive and defamatory remarks made to the media, involving his client.

Earlier, on March 23, Shakib Khan filed a case against Rahmat Ullah with a Dhaka court on the charges of extortion. Following a hearing, the magistrate had recorded Shakib's testimony, after taking cognizance of the charges against the producer.

They then took cognizance of the charges and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit a report after an investigation into the issue. The PBI were directed to submit the report within 30 days, according to court sources. In the meantime, Rahmat Ullah filed another case against Shakib Khan, stating that the actor had made derogatory statements about him.
