CNS M Nazmul Hassan promoted to Admiral

 

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) M Nazmul Hassan was promoted to the rank of Admiral on Sunday. Acting Chief of Staff of Bangladesh Army Lieutenant General Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan and Chief of Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Shaikh Abdul Hannan adorned M Nazmul Hassan with the ranks and badges of Admiral in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Admiral M Nazmul Hassan was commissioned in Bangladesh Navy on 1 July 1986. Earlier on he held the post of Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) and Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel). M Nazmul Hassan also served as the commanding officer of four frigates during his professional career.

M Nazmul Hassan served as Bangladesh High Commissioner to Maldives from 2020 to 2022. M Nazmul Hassan is well-known in the armed forces as a man of integrity, professionalism and strong leadership qualities. He has all along upheld the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the spirit of the Liberation War of 1971.

In his personal life, Admiral M Nazmul Hassan is married to Mrs. Nadia Sultana. The couple is blessed with one son and one daughter.
