An arrest warrant has been issued against Bollywood actress and model Zareen Khan in Kolkata's Sealdah court on charges of cheating. Allegation against the actress is that she signed a contract to attend 6 Kali Puja events in Kolkata and North Twenty-four Parganas with Rs 1.2 lakh (about Tk 16 lakh) but did not attend any of the events. The event management company alleged that they were threatened if they demanded a refund.
After that, the concerned event management company filed a case against Zareen Khan in Narkeldanga Police Station, Kolkata, alleging fraud. Later, the concerned police station investigated the matter and filed a charge sheet against Zareen Khan in the court. As the actress did not appear in the court, the court issued an arrest warrant against Zareen Khan.
Meanwhile, Zarin told the Indian media about the issuance of the arrest warrant that he does not know anything about this whole incident. He said, 'I am sure it is not true. I am shocked myself, am in touch with lawyers. Only then I myself will be aware of the whole situation.
According to Indian media reports, a notice under CrPC-41 was sent to Zareen Khan. The actress claimed that she was given wrong information by the organizing company.
She was misled about flight tickets, accommodation. It was even assured that influential leaders and ministers of West Bengal would be present on that occasion. But later Zarin's team found out that the organizers' claims were not true. So at the last moment the heroine bent down.
